Our meet with Carmel has been moved from Monday 4/13 to Wednesday 4/15. The meet will be at Carmel..We will still have practice on Monday..

Frosh/soph bus leaves at 7.30am… will return time around 1pm
Varsity bus leaves at 10.30am…return time around 6pm
We need to change our spikes from 1/4 to 1/8ths.. Start preparing your spikes now.. I have 1/8th to hand out..
Directions.. 84 west bound.. Take Exit 7S (Route 300 South / Union Ave South / I-87 /Thruway) At end of ramp turn right onto Route 300 South. You’ll be on Route 300 South for 4.6 miles. Go straight on Route 300 South until the road ends at an intersection and a traffic light (approx 2 miles). Turn Left which continues Route 300 South (approx 2 miles). Stay on the main road (after several hundred feet it bends to the right). Just after you pass Blockbuster Videos on the left, there is a five-way intersection with a stop light. At the intersection turn right onto Route 94 West. Go 1.1 miles to the intersection of Mount Airy Road (the road sign is on the right). Turn left into Cornwall Central High School.
We need warm up orders by 4/12.. It will take 3 weeks to get order completed so we need to move on this now..Make check out to John Jay Track
We have 2 practice times.. 9am and 2pm.. Your mission is to get to one of those practice times. If you can not you need to get off the couch and run.. Improvise.. You do not want all the work we have done so far to go for nothing.. YOU HAVE THE OPTION OF PRACTICE IN THE MORNING (9AM)OR AFTERNOON.. (2PM)

Sprinters/Jumpers – (Starts) 2×20,2×30,(Flying)2×40,2×50,2×80, 2×100..full recovery 5mins
Distance – 3 x 1200@90%..Gomba..67-70 sec pace…Grace..80-85..
APRIL 7th
Sprinters/Jumpers – plyos – low hurdle drills, box depth jumps
Distance -40min run..Last 10mins run as a Fartlek
April 8th
Sprinters/Jumpers – 200-300-400-400-300-200-150..90% fast
Distance -10 x 300m@90% after each 300.. 15 push ups then a 100m recovery jog and go again..Your jog should be no longer than 1min..
April 9th
Sprinters/Jumpers – plyos – 4 x400m jog turns and stride straightaways, 2min rest – handoffs
Distance -Plyos…40 min easy run…8 x 100m strides
April 10th
Sprinters/Jumpers – 15min warm up , 15 min plyos , 15 min strech….cool down
Distance -30min easy run…6 x 100m strides
We have done a lot of work to get our selves to a level of conditioning.. Do not set your self back . Keep Training!!!!!.

COLD,WINDY AND NASTY.. That pretty much defines the meet this past w/end.. We got out of there with no injuries.. Most important.. There were 4 notable performances..In some of the worst conditions possible.
Grace Tilearcio – in the 3xMile she was 80 meters behind when she got the baton, ran her best race of this early spring season. 10 more meters and she would of caught the winner..
Kevin Joyce – 400h…60.4 windy conditions make going over hurdles very tough ..Nice start for your 1st race
Throwers Relay.. 4 x 100. 52.6.. It may come in handy having big guys who run like Forest Gump..
All Frosh/Soph runners – not one wimper about the conditions. they just ran their heart out.
The John Jay High school track team is seeking sponsors for its 2009 season. For a donation of ($5.00 minimum) sponsors will have their names or business names printed on a banner that will be displayed with our team at future track events.. Our past fundraisers have been very important to our team.. The money goes toward buying equipment, uniforms, spikes and entry fees to invitational meets for X/Country, Indoor and Spring Track meets. Because we are a 3 season sport our needs are many. We are asking for help from our athletes, parents and sponsors in our area. By the way, as an incentive, the student who raises the most money will receive 2 tickets to either a Yankee game or Mets game.. Students CANNOT sell the sponsorships during school time.
