Boys

The Varsity I Boys Race features top team New Milford, CT. The individual battle should be a great one between James McDonough of Mahopac, Mike Turi of John Jay East Fishkill, Eric Holt of Carmel, and Nick Grudev of New Milford, CT. New Milford, CT crosses the border and features a strong Varsity team. Mamaroneck is another strong team.

 Girls

The Varsity I Race could feature the dayâs best race between NY State Champion Megan Young from Nanuet, and rising star Gina Talt from Mamaroneck. Other top runners include Danielle Drummond and Gabrielle Drummond of John Jay East Fishkill. New Milfordâs Jen Paradiso could also be in the mix. New Milford, CT, Nanuet, and John Jay (EF) all have a shot for the team title.

Practice at Sharpe has been rescheduled for Wednesday. Meet in the gym lobby before 2.

 On October 16, 9 – 3 we have tentatively set up a car wash. Car wash will be held at Stewart’s on Rt. 376 in Fishkill Plains (same location as the first one)

The girl’s team placed second at the Pre-league meet, losing by only 2 points to the 10th ranked team in the state and the number ranked team in the section. The season is still early. Keep working hard and keep focused! For years the John Jay X/Country team has been manning the water stop for the Dutchess Classic. It is a great oppprtunity to cheer our area runners and give them some much needed water along the way.

We will be meeting at Van Wyck at 7.50am…We may need parents to shuttle athletes to the water stop areas.. We should be completed by noon.
