Absolutely tremendous day for the girls team! Both teams brought home plaques. Congratulations ladies on 2 second place finishes!
Varsity girls gave Arlington a real fight, finishing only 8 points behind them. The compression between runners 1-5 was impressive. Only 42 seconds!! Incredible!! Team average time of only 20:49! This team is probably one of the most talented teams behind the 2000 NYS Championship Runner-ups, and may be the second fastest team average ever by a John Jay Girls Cross Country team at Bowdoin Park. Arlington has gotten a taste of some competition from us, and they better watch out on Friday. John Jay Girls Cross Country will be lethal! Let’s keep this focus and keep moving up! Believe. Anything can happen if you set your mind to it.
Gabrielle Robert 4th 20:27 (21 second PR)….Keep focused on their number 2. You are stronger than her. Friday will be time for redemption. Let’s just get healthy first.
Danielle Drummond 5th 20:33… Nice job sticking with Robert. Let’s get both of you in front of their 2.
Gabrielle Drummond 9th 20:55… We will figure out why you don’t feel well racing. Keep positive and stay hungry. You can stick with Robert and Dani.
Samantha Gisonni 11th 21:02 (30 second PR)…. Excellent job stepping up. So close to break 21! You will this Friday. Nice kick! That new stride of yours is helping you.
Claire Gomba 15th 21:09 (23 second PR)… Surprise finish. Way to come back from injury! Keep it up. Sub 21 this Friday! Stay right with Sam and finish ahead of their 4 and 5.
Abigail Paglia 31st 22:51(54 second PR)….Let’s keep chopping time off. First sub 23! Keep moving up in the race and don’t settle.
Amanda Pecorella 37th 23:11.…Stay focused during the race. You need to channel your energies and emotions into your race. You are still the same runner from last year. I believe it, you just have to believe it too.
JV Awesome job! 8 out of 10 medals! Congratulations on a great season! There is a lot of promise from this group of girls.
