In our coaches meeting Iwas told by the John Jay administration that at this time there are no after school bus transportation!!! This is a very big deal not only for sports but all after school activities.. If this holds up as being true we have to look at solutioning some X /Country questions”:

1. Will parents be able to pick up at designated stop time?

2. Will parents allow athletes to car pool with other parents?

3. Will parents allow athletes to car pool with other athletes who are able to drive?

4. Do we change  start and stop time to accomadate carpooling? example..instead of going from 2-3.40pm we would go from 3 – 5pm?. Where do the kids go between 2pm and 3pm?

If this is a concern parents should make phone calls to the appropriate district administrator.

We have a lot of questions but very few answers at this time..

We will be scheduling a Parents /Coaches meeting  during the 1st week of school.  Our new Assistant Athletic Coordinator, Dave Seipp would like to attend. It will be a good opportunity to ask questions and maybe get a few answers.  We will be facing many obstacles this year.  The TEAM does not include only the athletes and coaches. This year more than ever we need full parent involvement for our TEAM to be successful.

 The X/Country schedule will be  online by Monday..

Official Practice starts this Monday, 8/23, at John Jay High School.

Girls Practice: 8:30 AM SHARP @ John Jay HS. Bring a towel or Yoga Mat.

Boys Practice: 6 PM @ John Jay HS.

If you are in the area, you are expected to be there. These practices are now Mandatory as they count towards the first meet. If you are away on vacation email Coach Lee or Coach Roth.

IMPORTANT: In order to practice you must have a signed physical consent form.

Practice will be at Baird Park Monday the 9th at 6 PM.

Directions:  Taconic North … it is the exit just north of the Pok/Arlington HS exit….once in the park make your 1st right turn.. . 300meters on your left will be a parking area where we will meet.

Practice will be at Bowdoin Park at 6pm sharp…

2. 8/18 – Junior high to Varsity Level sports, physical fitness test

3. 8/23 – 1st day of Legal Practice Sessions at John Jay…6pm
