BUDGET: VOTE YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

May 5, 2010

This memo below is from our Athletic Director Darryl Sullivan to all …

On Wednesday, May 12th @ 8pm in the JJ Gymnasium we are having a budget meeting that ALL COACHES must attend with the following people:
 ALL COACHES
ALL OF YOUR PLAYERS (IN ALL LEVELS)
AllL REPRESENTATIVES FROM YOUR SPORTS YOUTH GROUP (CYO, LL, POP WARNER, AYF, SOCCER UNITED ETC.,…)
——-THE WORD HAS TO GET TO ALL OF THESE PEOPLE (YOUTH GROUPS) AS THEY WILL BE EFFECTED GREATLY
 ALL OF YOUR PLAYERS PARENTS

You must understand that we are in dire times here…..whether you are in season or out of season, please be here….

Please have your athletes wear their uniform or t-shirt representing their respective team….if this requires you to call an emergency team / program meeting to get the word out (prior to the mtg.), then please do so…..if this budget does not pass, this effort could be minimal in comparison to what we could really have to do later….so, let’s not wait for failure to be proactive!!

Our goal is to pack the gym on Wednesday 5/12 @ 8pm….we will have the athletic association and some students speaking on behalf of the importance of getting the positive voters out etc.,…our Superintendent, Mr. Parla, will be present to address all and answer any questions that come up….flyers will be handed out to all to be distributed to the community….

This is step one in getting word out to all of our groups….please remember that in our community we ABSOLUTELY have more people that support the budget than do not……the problem lies in the fact that there are more VOTERS that come out negatively….WE HAVE TO GET THE SUPPORTERS OUT TO VOTE!!!….this will be a great step in the right direction on Wednesday May 12th

COULD YOU IMAGINE A YEAR WITHOUT ATHLETICS???  OR IMAGINE HAVING JUST VARSITY (ON SITE TEAMS) ONLY AND WHAT THAT WOULD DO TO OUR PROGRAMS……LETS NOT LET THIS HAPPEN!

DO YOU KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A PASSED BUDGET AND GOING TO CONTINGENCY IS ABOUT $100 TO THE AVG. HOUSEHOLD…..FOR $100, WE COULD LOSE EVERYTHING!

Darryl Sullivan
Athletic Coordinator John Jay
(845) 897-6700 ext. 184

The note above pretty much explains what we would be facing if the budget does not pass. Lets make an effort to be at Jay on May 12th.. We have our 2nd day leagaue championships on May 12th.. We should be back to school just in time to be at the meeting.
