Lakshmanan leads Jay cross country to dual meet victory..

   YORKTOWN HEIGHTS – The John Jay High School boys’ cross country team took the top three spots Monday as the Patriots knocked off Lakeland, 19-47, in a Conference I meet held at Franklin D. Roosevelt State Park.

   Valliappan Lakshmanan was first to the finish in a time of 18 minutes and eight seconds, beating teammates Kevin French and Mike Turi by two seconds each.

Meet will be held at FDR Park @ 4.15..   FDR Park is located off of the taconic Parkway.

Bus will depart Jay at 2.15pm.. Be ready..

DEPARTURE – FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 23^{rd….FROM JOHN JAY @ AROUND 2PM}

TIME –   We will meet at Queensbury  High school so the athletes can get a run in on the course. Athletes will need to be dressed to run!! We will then head to the hotel and get ready for dinner.

TRANSPORTATION – By car

Good Job on Saturday girls! There were a lot of PR’s out there! I saw a lot of smiling faces and positive attitudes.  That is really important.  Now we have to work on tightening up our top 7 in order to compete as a team.  XC is both an individual sport and a team sport! If we can pick up the speed and keep this positive energy going, we’ll be unstoppable!

Looking forward to hill work outs and Queensbury invitational this week!

Excellent over all effort by all runners on Sat.. with 500meters to go everyone showed tremendous desire in trying to run down the person in front of you.. Keep it up..

FROM NORTH: 684 South to exit 6, right onto Rt. 35, right onto Rt. 100. Go 1/4 mile, take the left onto Rt. 139. Continue approx 2 miles passing Reis Park, to Somers HS on right.
